I'm not sure if you can get a similar deal with your carrier, but I got my contract without getting a phone, so I get a monthly discount on my bill of roughly $25, so $300/year! Might be worth asking for that for before deciding!

I have never used a Z30 but as a Z10 owner I would switch for the Z30 in a second - based solely on the reviews I have heard from others who've used both. More screen and longer battery - and not awkwardly big.

Using both, Z30 is better device in all important aspects. You should chose Z30.
Full disclosure: the only drawback besides price difference - is much heavier.

Gotta be Z30 this device is very solid but if you want one hand controlling go Z10 both amazing devices anyway you go.

The Z30 is better in almost every respect than the Z10 - after all, its the next model. There are a few things that are up to user preference, for example AMOLED vs IPS screen (I prefer the IPS personally), or the size. There are several extras as well, FM radio, miracast, USB OTG. The performance increase is only really noticable when looked at side by side. On paper, CPU performance is only really about 10-15% better. The GPU is faster, but you might not notice unless you have some wickedly complex 3D game running.

The battery is probably the biggest difference - yes, it lasts longer, *BUT* it can't be changed. You can change/upgrade batteries on the Z10. This sort of negates the battery advantage. A 4500mAh mattery will eat the Z30 for breakfast (at the expense of a larger, heavier Z10).

So, it really comes down to a few personal preferences and requirements (eg if you really need the FM radio, or OTG), and more importantly money. Is the Z30 66% (499 vs 299) better than the Z10. No. Things rarely scale like that. If you are getting 2, why not split the difference and buy a Z10 and a Z30 - put boxing gloves on, and the winner gets first choice

If money is the leading factor, then the Z10 wins. You will get most of the features/performance of the Z30, and 2 will only cost $100 more than a single Z30. You can buy a lot for $400 (difference between 2 Z30s and 2 Z10s).

Everyone mentions all the features of Z30 but don't forget the built in Z30 speakers are phenomenal.

I would only choose Z10 if size, price and crisper looking screen are factors.

Those aside I think the Z30 is worth the extra dough.

I have a Z10 but recently switched to a 30. Not looking back. I don't find it too big for my hands, thinner than a Z10 as well. Longer battery, louder and clearer speakers, brighter screen. I have to put my brightness down because it is so bright.
FM radio, USB OTG, wireless charging (on VZW) what's not to like?

I find the screen way dimmer. I have it all the way up and cool white. Had the z10 all the way up as well .
