I want to use touch.facebook.com, but I am wondering if I am still being forced into the client when I enter that URL into the browser. Because I have the menu on the left side, and quite often the buttons don't respond. Is there a trick ?

Nope. Touch.facebook.com and the client pretty much look the same. That's why you're confused

And your question is not clear, you ask, am I forced when.... so if you enter the url in your browser, you should have seen there was no forcing into the native app..
