I do not think the Z10 has a radio fm chip built into it.

There is no FM radio. Lots of radio apps though, lol.
Excuse me, I'm making perfect sense. You're just not keeping up.

lol... Kind of doesn't help if you're on the move with no wifi to jump on. That's going to kill your data. Not sure why gsmarena listed it FM Radio as TBD though.

I find GSM Arena always tosses in generic specs and then rarely ever goes back and updates them or removes the non relevant stuff.

What I want to know is if the Z10 has an FM radio chip built into it like the Galaxy S3 but for whatever reason there is no software for it? If so would it be possible to use the FM tuner? It is a really cool feature to have built into any smartphone. I go to a lot of Formula 1, Indycar, ALMS races and its so important to have an FM tuner to know what's going on during any race.

How about when you go to the gym and the the TV panels are broadcast with mini FM tranceivers? Most of the "kids" out there think FM radio is something over the internet. The FM OVER THE AIR broadcasts is where the internet signal originates and the tuner should be available to accept the signal on a BB device for the gym TV panel broadcasts, emergencies, local morning shows, local sports, etc. MOST HIGH END events & GYMS (country clubs, etc.) broadcast with these transceivers and are used regularly by the typical Blackberry owner. It it such a simple feature to turn-on by BB and satisfy a huge customer base of multi-taskers who would use it at these events rather than an iPod mini or Sansa or Walkman device. It is great marketing too having the BB on your arm receiving the signal through your earbuds whereby the wire serves as the antenna. Come on BB, get it done!

Sadly, there is none. But I wish it did have one!

Default Blackberry Z10 has FM chip installed

iFixit teardown exposes Blackberry Z10 equipped with FM chip TI WL1273L (WiFi, Bluetooth and FM)

    BlackBerry Z10 Teardown - iFixit

Even Playbook has TI WL1283 (WiFi, Bluetooth and FM).

Both Playbook and Z10 officially does not support FM radio from Blackberry. But Q10 supports FM.

I've never understood why no am/fm... am is very important in emergency situations and transmit much further then fm. And that's where all my talk shows are on. I was hoping for radio too buddy but luckily I'm on Telus with a 6 gig plan which has great coverage son I can get all my stations on the go. But it would be useful for those people on WIND mobile who only get about 3 blocks of data coverage in the city of Toronto lol.

I don't believe an FM port will matter if there is no radio to run it.
