Yes it is. The idea is to save time. When you will close the case the phone will also lock itself automatically.

Is your phone locked? Or do you mean that your phone turns on?

I have one as well. The screen comes on when you open the case - but if the phone was locked, and you open the case, the screen will come on but be on the locked screen - not unlock the phone.

I lock my screen then when I open the flip case my phone screen unlocks and I'm not on the lock screen.....thanx for u r replies guys

If you turn your screen off ( not locking the phone) by pressing the power button, close the case then open it, the screen will come on and the phone can be used straight away. But if you locked your phone and close the case, opening it shouldn't unlock your phone. At least that's my experience. Cheers.

The z10 has a sensor about an inch in from the left edge and about halfway down. It can detect a magnet and the flip case has such a magnet. When you close the case, the screen goes off. Open the case and it goes on. LOCK with password is kind of a separate setting.

For the phone to auto lock when you close the flip shell case I believe you have turn on the option to "lock device when holstered" otherwise will just put the screen to sleep and wait for the specified time to get locked, at least that is how mine works
