I am new to world of Blackberry, but am very intrigued by the Z10. I am 99% sure the Z10 is the phone I want, however, I have a few questions first that I know you all can help me with...
1) Can I purchase videos for the Z10? Part of the reason I want this phone is for the mini-HDMI.
2) Is it able to open and edit Word documents?
3) I have read on this site about the lack of apps. Is there a Nook app available?
4) I have about 200+ hours of video I purchased when Zune was up and running. Will the video player play these or do I need to convert these?
5) Last question, what is the quality of the HDMI out?

I use it for video playback all the time, but I tend to make my own. I've bought one or two from App World but made hundreds from my dvds, capture device etc.

Yes. It has a built in app called Docs to Go which opens word, excel, pdf and powerpoints.

Not sure. I use Kindle's Android app on it and it works fine. I suspect people run the Nook Android app on it as well if there isn't a native one.

4) I have about 200+ hours of video I purchased when Zune was up and running. Will the video player play these or do I need to convert these?

Not sure. If this is rights protected, it may not transfer to BlackBerry or anything except maybe a Windows Phone. Better let a Zune/WP Fan answer that.

5) Last question, what is the quality of the HDMI out?

I find it good.

dlowe23, there is an app in BlackBerry World that plays all video formats..yes even raw dvd in. vobs

There's been some recent changes to the Video Store. I think it may be back in business for the moment. But I suspect it will be allied with Amazon which will be the app store along with BBWorld.

By the way, it is MICRO-hdmi port. (there is mini and it is not the same)

There is docs-to-go although somewhat limited.

Amazon Kindle is available. Nook might be - IS available using SNAP (3rd party access to the Google store). I'm downloading it now but I don't have any nook books from the old days. Will see if it opens in a few minutes without books! Got any links to a freebie sample book? Ah, the account I have not used in at least 3 years worked. I am reading using the Nook app!!!!

If might be drm protected which means stripping the drm or converting most probably.

5) Last question, what is the quality of the HDMI out?

EXCELLENT. It will be as good as the video file you have on the device. That is one of its great features.

download a $4.99 app called Kalemsoft that can play all video formats including mkv,avi,windows media,flv,divx,etc. without conversion

Yes you can view, edit the word or excel files from docs to go.
The app comes by default in the phone

I only purchase my z 10 because I have my old PlayBook and aside from this can be a remote control in blackberry bridges what else awesome features that this can do?
