I've noticed a weird observation regarding signal on my BlackBerry Z10...

My Z10 holds onto a signal like nothing else (holds onto a signal much better than an HTC One I won in a competition) however when it loses the signal, and by signal I mean data connection as well, then it seems not to try and find the signal again

And the only way I can regain fast cellular data connection and/or gsm signal is to either switch the phone off and back on or electronically do that by enabling Airplane mode then switching that off to re-enable the radios

    Anyone else getting this?

Well I thought I'd go on a wing and a prayer and call EE technical support and they said, and I quote: -

"Yeah apparently BlackBerry phones do that - we get lots of calls from businessmen who travel a lot and because the devices are travelling between various masts it can happen but only on BlackBerry's"

My HTC One barely gets as good a signal strength or quality on my Z10 however when it loses the signal it's quick to get it again whereas if my Z10 loses signal it's like it gives up searching unless I provoke it via Airplane mode switch on and off!

Happens all the time to me and a lot of friends on EE with iphones in my area. I have tweeted them my grievances to which they said my area had now been fixed, but it's still crap! O2 for me next time, never had such issues with phones on their network in my area

Happened to me, lose signal when I go into a weak signal area but signal doesnt come back when I return to a strong signal area always have to re-boot, upgraded to 10.1.0.2312 so will see how it goes. Are you on 3G or 4G with EE?

I'm on a 4G plan but currently live and work in a 3G/H+ area

I had the same issue but it only occurred when I went from 4G to a non 4G service area. However, I have had a repeat Of same since updating to current OS.

I noticed this problem when moving from a 4G area to a 3G area and vice versa.

I fixed my issue with that by selecting just 3g in the settings or if I want to use 4g I select 3g+4g in network mode.its a whole lot better. Seems to be for me at least. Stay away from any network settings which includes 2g.give it a try.
