My personal emails are deleted after some time, sometimes within an hour or so. Not sure if the Z10 does this by default.

Is there a way to override this or is this a problem inherent with the Z10?

Are you accessing your email using another platform - web browser, computer email program? My emails have been hanging out for ages on my z10 unless I delete using my computer's email program.

What OS version? Which carrier? Personal or corporate device?

I've accessed some via my PC. Others mainly through my cell.

Anyone have any ideas why this happens? It happened again today and I didn't even open that email on my PC nor have I deleted it.

Have you reviewed your account settings?
When this happens, are you losing connection with that account?

What type of email account is this happening on? (ie, hotmail / gmail / etc?)

Are you saying that you get an email on your z10, and without intentionally deleting it anywhere, it just disappears off your z10?

Someone must be accessing your mailbox somewhere else. The Z10 or BB10 OS doesn't delete emails unless they're older than the amount of time you've set your BlackBerry to sync messages (7 days, 30 days, etc.).

Correction. Once the emails on your device hit the sync time threshold, they are only removed from the device view. They are not in any way deleted. The only way an email is deleted is if you tell it to delete by using the delete function in the menu or delete key on a keyboard model.

Actually that is only for initial retrieval. Once they are on your device they do not go away unless deleted on your BlackBerry or PC. My initial retrieval was 90 days in December. My emails are still there today. They never go way without me deleting in some form

I have had a handful of emails 'spontaneously' delete but not many, probably between 5-10 over one year. Don't know why, I keep everything and had not done anything different. I have read where others have had more of an issue with this problem, but no solutions why. When I have noticed it happen, if I need the email, I just ask the sender to re-send.
Now thinking about it, I once had every email from one person disappear. No critical information lost, so only bothered me to the point of that it had happened at all.

Unless you use a mail service with EAS. ActiveSync will enable you to delete in one location and affect all.
