OS 7 doesn't require anything fancy like this to use the phone as a mode. Just pay Tether their licensing fee and you're good to go.

You don't even have to do that. All you have to do is set it up as a Bluetooth DUN Modem. Easy and free.

Anyone with the q10? Have you tried 10.3 or the latest 10.2 leak, to see if the e-screen works on it?

Update: I just tried the 10.3 leak on the q10, I still cannot remove the tethering restriction. Same error as before with 10.2. I hope someone is able to figure out how to get it to work with the more recent leaks.

I gave up and switched to a z30. I know that doesn't help you, but not sure anyone is even looking into it anymore.

The easy tethering app just updated
and works great on my verizon Z30 10.2.1. It's not free but does exactly what is intended. Worth the cost in my view vs the fees verizon would throw at you for tethering.

You're correct. I see no wifi hotspot capability.

AT&T requires backend provisioning for tethering to work, not simple device-end software and settings. At least, for most devices. Get caught by the system tethering more than a little bit, and your data feature will get auto-switched to a 5GB tethering feature.

Here is a notification that it still works as of this post. i just did it today with my z10 and im posting via hotspot with my samsung galaxy tablet. i vowed never to ditch the playbook and i havent, thats another topic. ill definitely post up if something changes since i do have verizons grandfathered unlimited plan.

Everything seems to be going well have used 15gbs of data, no problems. I did discover that I cannot send/receive picture messages anymore, which isn't a big deal via mms/text because for 90% of my contacts we bbm. Therefore I rarely use verizon txt msg, but it was fully functional as of the 29th when I received one, I sent one June 26th- could be something on the escreen I'll double check the settings later

Yeah I have no ability to group message via mms, for some time now but tethering is so much more useful and the most important pics I can email or use BBM

After upgrading today to version 10.2.1.3247 via Verizon OTA update, I re installed the old escreens bar and it is still working fine FYI.

For those having issues with the grayed out part, I sideloaded a previous version of the escreen bar, from 2354, and i was able to get tethering to work.

Been using easy tether for a week or more without problem. Sometimes establishing connection is a little flakey, but once you have its good to go.

Just need a user agent switcher and your good!

This is on the z10, the option will be grayed out, but just load the old escreen bars that are linked in this thread. Hopefully when 10.3 lands we can still have a "work around".

As noted previously, I am on 10.3.0.296 with. 700 bars and the prior E screen on my Verizon Z30, and tethering works fine.

I keep finding that the VZW over tethering/MHS Entitlement gets turned back on and my hotspot name keeps getting reset. This started happening ever since I arrived back from Europe. Anyone else seeing this?
I've changed the escreens token to 30 days so it is easy to reset.
