So I don't know how this works but most of the time when I click on a work, it just selects it and then no matter where I click (blankspace) it doesn't go away. Like its trail and error to get the editing bubble.

Can someone please explain how exactly it works?

You are referring to the text magnification bubble when you are trying to select text, say for copy and pasting?
