As it hit the ground my heart shattered in a million pieces... I never knew I was capable of so much pain. It's got a pretty nasty dent on the side just above the volume keys.

Needless to say, I just bought a case.

I feel your pain. I guess these things happen but really it should happen to somebody else.
I got the flip case. Makes a nice snapping sound when you close it. Also turns the display off when closed, it's got a grippy texture so it doesn't slip out your hand or pocket. I think it's made out of kevlar.

Reasons to why I think your a wise guy:
1. Can't keep a phone in your hands.
2. Buying a case AFTER you scratch your phone.
3. Probably think you are some hotshot and thought buying a case will make your phone ugly.
4. Posting here to share your feelings with the world.

I know the feel, I dropped mine on the drive way as well but thank god nothing major happened, just a scratch on the bezel.

Sorry to hear that bad news... it's definitely not the best feeling in the world, but it does happen some point in time, it's just a matter of time. Atleast the screen didn't crack!

I plan on the Zagg extreme which is supposed to help prevent screen breakage or spread if that fails. Not sure on the type of case. I have used Seidio cases on several phones and so far, thank you, no mishaps.

I know that pain from when I first dropped my new 9900 a couple of weeks after getting it. Ater it landed (while I was walking) I kicked it into a steal beam too. That phone is a tank, though I swear. Not a mark.

What I find amazing so far is that I've heard quiet a few people dropped their Z10, but none of them broke the screen. At least none of those I heard of. I think one of them had an discolored unreadable screen, but touch commands still seemed to work. Seems that the Z10 is not that fragile.
