It was working with and without the Btooth, i made 4-5 calls through out the day.then just stopped working and got that message i posted on page 1. Ya true that person had no clue. I will ask someone else with a z10 or z30 if tjey can control it who is on the same network, i have tried a soft reboot and no luck.

You can ask others on your network who us BB10, but you can also ask anyone else you know on your network so long as they have smartphone with that functionality.
This way you can narrow down whether this is simply controlled by your carrier, something that only affects BlackBerry10 or something that is only affecting your device.

Yes i just asked a co-worker with a android and he said his phone doesn't have that option but he uses *67, and i think there is a charge for that. I'll have to call back TBayTel and find out. But i will keep asking around and post results. Thx everyone, love the BlackBerry world.

I have the same issue running 10.2.1.2941. The "Show my number" setting isn't even listed in the phone settings menu. I'm on Verizon.
Yup, verizon does not allow you to block your number, at least, on the phone. (you could on earlier phones because I do remember blocking my number on the 8830.) I don't know if you call them, they can alter that!

I just dial #31# before the number to suppress my number for that call only.

Just tried that and I get a Verizon intercept message "can't complete call" although they might have some other pre-pend that does allow blocking.

Verizon are still using the older CDMA switches. For them I believe it would be *67 followed by the number. Ie. *674165551212.

Well, *67 allows the number to be dialed. But since I don't have caller id on my home phone, I can't tell what is conveyed. I'll have to call someone I know and check!

    Thanks

    Let me know.

The *67 should normally work. That was the code on Bell when they were CDMA, and Bell used the same Nortel switches. It is entirely possible that the feature is disabled, but I doubt it since you said the call went through.

Is your phone purchased from the carrier or unlocked? What type of network is it?

Any update on the *67? I'm curious if it worked.

I guess I need someone to call. Maybe in the morning I will return a friend's call and try blocking my number.

Okay, so I interrupted Frontline. It showed as PRIVATE caller.

So, YES, the *67 works for Verizon phones. Thanks - now if I can remember that. Also, the z10 does not make entering/editing/pasting with the leading *67 easy. I had to enter the number into Remember app, edit and add the prefix, then copy and finally paste into the dial pad.

I let my battery go to 0% and left it out for a couple hours, hoping this may reset what ever happened. But no luck ,still cannot make any calls. Frustrating. But still love my phone.

Taking out the sim card for a bit would have more of an effect.

A good way to test as well, is if possible try a different sim from the same carrier in your device and your sim in your friends device and see what the result is

Ok ty I will try and take my card out. I assume I power down first. Can I just ask my provider for a new card?

If the problem is with your sim then yes. You'll have to tell them that there is something faulty and you need a sim swop
