Just spoke to EE they say they'll have it out within a week and it's due to the fact there including MyEE app that's held it up.

They could always just roll out the My EE app afterwards, at least they seemed more helpful than the guys on Twitter!

Ive tried the Vodafone PAYG sim trick in my phone and its works. I got the new update :-) I just switched to my Orange SIM afterwards all is fine. Point to note though... I ordered a free micro sim from Vodafone online but it takes 2-4 days. I just bought one from my local poundshop for 99p as my local vodafone shop wanted me to put 5 top up on the sim before they would give it to me... even though the sim is apprentally free! It wasnt a micro SIM so I had to cut it down but was worth it in the end. The update has given me multi calendars, fixed issues ive had with certain apps; made phone smoother/faster. Cant comment on battery power yet as its only been 3 hours since I updated ;-)

Mine is MEP locked and EE want 20 quid to unlock it. Scoundrels. Also say you have to be with them 6months and have a zero bill.

Guys. It was a very minor update. Many carriers may just skip it and wait for the big 10.1 release.

Nothing surprising in what EE say.. Vodafone told me a minute before the firmware was released that they don't know when it will be released, and wouldn't tell you anyway and to just wait for it to appear.

Carriers / Device makers need to be far more open about what they are doing.. but thats unlikely to happen.

Considering the number of people stating massive battery life improvements, along with the BlackBerry release notes saying 60 or so battery life enhancements, not sure minor is the word I'd have chosen, especially for people like myself suffering with battery issues.

10.1 should be out in a couple weeks its in carriers hands at the moment so ee is probably just skipping the small update. Although the battery fix was worthwhile

I've ordered a Vodafone sim just so I have it, but does it mess with the 4G?

On an unlocked device, surely the only thing that can tell the phone what network/frequency, etc to run on is the SIM? The EE text/APN settings are stored on the SIM, so are the radio settings I think. Mine was updated using the VF SIM trick and I have no ill effects that I can tell.....It also worked fine before and after with the Mrs' O2 SIM

Annoyingly considering they haven't released it yet, the Orange Z10 website shows the latest software release as 10.0.10.90
