i ran the 10.1 leak hoping for the dark theme but all we got is a black share menu.. i'm kind of dissapointed it won't be available for the Z10





look at how beautiful it looks compared to the Z10

REGARDING THE LCD SCREEN AND BATTERY CONSUMPTION:

if it still benefits the Z10's power consumption why even bother having two themes and make things easier for devs with the dark theme only? this white & blue light theme is too apple-esque IMO and just looks dated (same theme as windows 3.1 & bbos 4.2!!)

it doesn't match the hub menu, settings drop-down menu, any app menu rather, picture/video viewer, media player & whatever else is blacked out.. would it not be more consistant if it was like this across the board with the dark theme? everything would actually match! using the phone in bed, at the theatres, in a parked car at night hiding from that cruiser that just drove by, ect.. would all be beneficial with the dark theme plus the look matches the whole serious business thing BB is about and even the phones physical design itself

do you want to see the dark theme on the Z10? or atleast an OPTION for it?

Yes, why not? I get that the Z10 may not see the same power saving benefits as the Q10 and its AMOLED display, but I wouldn't mind having it even if it's an appearance option only.

If you really want the Dark theme the best way to do it is to bring down your brightness down to 0 and there you go Dark theme without updating to 10.1

There are people on this forum who strongly believe that a darker screen on the Z10's LCD screen will use up more energy then a lighter screen would.

I would really like to found out once and for all which side is correct.

I have always preferred a dark theme on any OS be it desktop or mobile, it's just less strain on the eyes. So yes, I would like the option of a dark theme.

Yes, it's good to have choice. There are some technical considerations here, though.

That dark theme that works so well on the Q's AMOLED screen may not be as legible on the Z's LCD one.

The dark theme looks fine but it is not necessary when using IPS screen on Z10. And I agree with BBRY - the dark for OLED screen is a good choice
