So I took the phone off the charger at 1230. I sent 2 SMS, and played 1 hour of Angry Birds. My phone died at 330 sharp. I did the updates 3 days ago. I have not used LTE since day 2. I bought the phone 1 week ago. I have hotmail, gmail, and shaw email accounts, as well as an ActiveSync work email account in my hub. All other apps closed.

I don't think this is normal.

Certainly doesn't sound normal. Take it back to see if as a minimum they give you another battery to try

Took it back today. Guy told me to let batt drain. initial charge of 8-10 hours. Then only 2-3 hours after that.

try draining the battery fully then charging it back up fully. If that doesnt fix it, then yes you have an issue

You really should be calibrating any new battery in the first few days of owning new phone technology. Rule applies to any brand.

Discharge the battery completely and recharge every night for the first 3 days. The battery may be pooched, though...
A calibration will give you a better idea.

I charged mine yesterday and took it off at around 5pm. It's still over 50%.

There is something wrong sounds like

I have the same issue - my work account uses Activesync also and my battery doesn't last long. So i changed the settings and now the battery lasts me the whole day easily and i fiddle with the phone alot. If you go into the advanced settings on your work account, turn off Push Mode and use the sync interval of 15 minutes and give that a try.

By doing this i dont' get emails instantly but no big deal for me. I'd rather not look at work emails anyways - hope that helps
