Ahoy, I've picked up a Z10 recently and have been using it as my daily driver for now and I have a pair of headphones I like, which has an inline mic and one button. (no volume controls)
Unfortunately for me, all the button appears to do in regards to music is play/pause.

I was hoping to continue to use it as I had (double-click = skip forward, triple-click = back) but it doesn't appear to do that.

Although holding the volume buttons to do those functions is nice, I don't feel like switching out headphones at the moment. Is that going to be my only option?

Yeah unless you get cheap earphones like the apple earpod which works amazingly on my BlackBerry (skip previous play pause bbassistant) Otherwise try to find an app for your earphones
