    Hello!
I wondered why my battery lost about 30% over night.
Last night I woke up 'cause the display started to illuminate in bedside mode. I turned the display off, but it started to show the red clock a few minutes later.
    Has anyone else observed this?
I have to say the phone was plugged-in that night, could that be a reason?

Bedside mode displays the glowing red clock. This is so that you could always see the time without having to press anything.

Bedside really just turned off all notifications except for the alarm.

And you should be charging your device overnight. What's up with that?

I always used bedside mode on my 9700 and it's still one of my favourite features. Setting the alarm is sooo fast and easy!
But I would like to have the option not to see the glowing clock all night as I use to charge the phone when the battery is nearly down, may it be in office, in my car or sometimes over night.

Haha, depends how long you sleep, 7-8h 10-12% in my situation, obviously in bedtime mode.

I use to have WiFi active at home. Could be one reason it drains that much...

Bedside mode is designed for being plugged in and charging. Why would you not charge overnight? It's the best opportunity.

Alternatively just set the alarm clock in the clock app, leave it full screen and the screen will turn off.

I like bedside mode 'cause it turns off all notifications except calls. I don't want the LED to flash all night long.
I often need to charge my phone when I come home from work. So it's fully charged when I go to bed and I don't want to leave it plugged in over the night.

It won't hurt it being plugged in overnight. It will only charge to capacity

I have been leaving all my phones charging over night for years with no issue.

My z10 used to go into bedside mode automatically when I Connected it to the charger, now I have to do it by swiping down from the lock screen, what's up with that??

My device is fully charged in 1.5h, never use charger at night, but use car charger to and from work, don't use WiFi at all because I have unlimited data plan, so really don't care. In my situation up to 24h.
