On my curve 8530 I could do alt maybe it was shift and backspace, to get delete. That is delete stuff to the right of the cursor, not the left. I can't seem to figure out how to do that on the z10.

If the little bubble cursor thing wasn't laggy it wouldnt be such a big deal..

Also, now that I'm using my 10 to browse the forum (very nice btw) I'm wondering how to subscribe to a thread

I believe you misunderstood... anyone else? Does this keyboard support delete, not to be confused with backspace?

To delete a word? Go to the end of the word and swipe to the left on your keyboard and the whole word deletes, do this is many times for as many words as you want

No, delete like on any normal PC keyboard. You know, backspace erases to the left, "Delete" erases to the right. Often this is more efficient than trying to use the laggy bubble cursor positioner.

In fact my curve 8530 using bb5 had this.

    (i should have caught that)

Hmm seems like you can't modify a post using CB10.

Anyway still waiting anxiously for a tip on how to delete using the keyboard

By that I think you mean there is no delete on this keyboard implementation (i did discover that you can edit a post with CB10 by long pressing your post to get a menu).

I wonder if anyone who has tried any of the new Os updates can chime in and let us know if alt backspace (or shift) will delete on a future version

I've read that some people end up having to do a wipe to use these beta updates. Os that true

I know what you mean. That delete feature only works when composing an email or typing on the address bar.
