I am using Z10 STL 100-1 OS 10.2.1.2977 and is very much satisfied apart from battery and sometimes the miscaliberation of battery.

I don't have 4G in my area, should I switch to STL 100-2. Would it be wise?

I am thinking about the same switch. Battery problems and the missing LTE. I had a Z30 for some months and went back to my lovely Z10.

In your case it is only the battery problem which could justify the new phone then.

You sed it only difference is 4G / LTE.
I'm still using STL-1 in a country with all carriers providing LTE and didn't change since the Z10 release.
You just adjust your functionality to the 1800mAh and you're good to go

    Cheers! From my STL-1

I'm sorry to hear that but to tell you the truth i joined BlackBerry OS beta testing and that means the very VERY! Unstable OS'S that makes leaked ones status as "official release" and didn't have that much of lag your implying.

    Cheers! From my STL-1

I had STL100-1 and made the switch to STL100-2 and I quite think it was not that wise choice. For I felt STL100-1 was a little bit better in terms of Camera, responsiveness, snappier, graphics seemed more smooth on it. Battery seems better on 100-2 and of course 4G LTE

This is your call. If you're gonna ask me, I don't think switching to STL2 is going to change things since you cannot utilize its 4G LTE capabilities.

Nah dont switch to stl-2. There is no clear advantage really unless 4G reception is better in your area.

If you really want to get a new phone. The BlackBerry passport maybe?

I'm also considering switch. Inaccurate battery readings is my main reason but on other hand I like omap over qualcom which was always better on paper than in real use.

If I was the OP, I would opt for a Z30 instead.

    I made a switch from z10 stl 100-1 to stl 100-3..

Few days back I was suffering under stl 100-1.. was desperately trying to find a solution for battery calibration because I know how it feels to not know how much battery is exactly left and the fear associated with it of getting it randomly switched off. It is too much of trouble and doing the recalibration after every fifteen days or so was a pain. At the beginning you don't mind but slowly it grows on you.
So I thought of making the switch.

I also thought of getting iphone 5c but then the advantages with z10 are like removable battery memory card addition and the good OS are much more in my opinion. The size is just perfect. If battery life is not an issue then a switch to another version of z10 is good (according to me).

You shouldn't have to recalibrate every fifteen days. Just stick to the original BlackBerry Charger and charging cable for the Z10. The premium car charger seems to not cause issues as well as the 1,800 mA travel charger. Using weak or aftermarket chargers or your battery overheating during charging are 2 factors which trigger off the miscalibration. Faulty original chargers, charging cables or dirty contacts can cause your original charger to trigger a miscalibration as well. I also suspect charging from a PC might trigger it as well. Avoid those scenarios and you should be good to go.

You are clearly unaware of the problem in this particular model.. aren't you?

Do you really think that the one who has had problems with the charging and then re calibrated it will ever try to use any other means of charging apart from the charger already provided?

I have used both the models. Kindly check my previous posts if possible.
