The BlackBerry Z10 is a great device and it is pretty much perfect for what I need in a phone. Except for one glaring flaw.

The Battery Lasts ONLY 3 hours on a full charge.

I am also aware, that I am not the only one with this issue, because everyone I know who has a Z10 (4 ppl) reports similar battery times, maximum being 5 hours.

I got the Z10 charging Bundle, in hopes that a brand new battery would increase the time, but that doesn't happen. Battery Still Drains in 3 Hours every time. I have to swap Batteries 4 times a day sometimes even 5 times. I have also seen many other people on the forums and in BBM channels complain about the same.

I think there is a serious Hardware Issue in the Z10.

But Crackberry should Dig Deeper and Find out if there is a Software Issue, and If BlackBerry Acknowledges any such issues, and is working on a fix.

Or are we Z10 Owners just stuck forever with worst ever battery times?
    Crackberry should investigate.-img_20140623_174921.png
As you can see it's so bad, sometimes even the spare battery doesn't get enough time to charge.

    Some Fun Facts,

I use My Display at Zero Brightness.

Safe operating temperature for a battery is 35 degrees Celsius

New Airport Rules require all electronics to be charged and to be able to turn on. There will be a lot of pain for travellers with Z10s

I usually get 12-16 hours with moderate light usage or average use.
But actually Z10 goes off in less than 5 hours of continuous use

I think the browser can drain the battery if it's left open.

you have an issue with that requires a complete wipe or a new device. There is nothing that we need to investigate. Your problem is not shared by everyone with a Z10 at all

I also got the spare battery.
    After the first month

I have learned to not swap out the battery. It takes too long for your phone to resync and eats up allot of battery power

Plug in your spare battery to your phone to charge it.

There are as far as I know no hardware issues causing battery drain.

The fastest way to clean your device is to install the latest os via an autoloader.

Test your battery drain for a day before installing apps and setting up email accounts etc. This will ensure you that the device is fine.

Install one thing at the time and make a log of what you are doing. This may help you identify the issue if it occurs again.

I have no problem swapping the battery. Just that the time that BB10 takes to boot is embarrasing.

2-3 hours per battery for a Z10 is about all that can be expected if you actually use your phone. So no investigation is needed, but not because there is something wrong with your Z10. Something was wrong with whoever designed the Z10 to use such a POS battery.

I'm a heavy user and get 2 hours it if every Z10 I've used. I get 10 hours out of the Z30.

I know there are people here who say they get 24 hours out of a Z10 and 4 days out of a Z30 which is fine if you use your phone as a paperweight. I'm talking about actually using your phone with no holds barred.

Like Howermat says: security wipe or fresh install without restore. Its definitely not the norm to get 3 hours on a full charge.

What OS do you have installed?
    I'm running the 10..3.0.296 on my Z10 and I average about 2 days + 18 hours.
The worst I ever got was about 1 day+ 12 hours on an older OS 10.2.1.xxx

Your numbers are way off the chart.
reinstall the OS and use the latest one available!

I use my Z10 for business so I am on it quite a lot during the day and the charge will last around 10 - 12 hours. I admit though, if I am in the office I leave it hooked up to the computer to keep it fully charged.

Usage again? Everyone uses their phone differently. Fire up maps, crank your screen brightness to 11, and start to take some pics with the flash on, make sure you are in a week signal area and make/take some calls while playing your favourite video game. You will empty the Z10 battery pretty quickly. Nothing to debate here. If you use your Z10 this way you will need lots and lots and lots of battery power. Deal with it. Lots of solutions available.

Is these numbers possible at all : 200%, 144%, ... shouldn't they be less or equal to 100% when you add up all listed items?
Anyway, there is the common law: Every non broken and/or ill designed device powered by a battery can be use in an arbitrary way, chosen from infinite possible ways, to drain the battery for up to infinitesimally short time.

    Perform a hard reset
You do this by holding the volume keys until the BlackBerry blue logo comes!

Or you can update your os or you can reload it, what is are you running?

Something is wrong with your Z10 OP. They don't get great battery life but there is no way for me to kill mine, even with constant use, in three hours. I'd start by loading a new OS.
