I really hate how I have to constantly swipe up to answer a call. Is there any way I can change this so you could swipe across, etc either by changing any settings or by installing customization app?

lol, that's just mean!

To the OP, as of late there aren't any options to change such. Maybe future updates will allow for various options but i've had no issues, works like a charm all the time!

If u turn the phone sideways when it rings you'll have to swipe across to answer the call.

in the 10.2 firmware, you can slide to the side to answer.

Since 10.2.1 the answer call button is horizontal. To swipe to the left/right equals answer/cancel a call.
It was longly discussed, some users wanted to continue to swipe up/down (10.0 10.1 10.2.0)
It's only a gesture... c'mon!
