    Hi,

I have just got the BlackBerry Passport and switched my BlackBerry ID to the Passport from my previous phone Z10.

I have registered for a new BlackBerry ID using the BlackBerry website but cannot change the ID on my Z10 to the new ID.

Please advise how to change the BlackBerry ID on my Z10.

    Thanks.

You will probably have to do a security wipe and then when you set up again you can sign in with the new ID

You can do a backup but I think it won't restore it if you use a different ID.

You could always sync them to Gmail etc.

Apps are also tied to the BlackBerry ID. I have the same ID on my z10 and passport so I am don't know why you are having issues.

You could try using Darcy's tools, you can rename the OS so you can back up an old one or new.

Why do you want or need a new BBID? I think you can keep the same one but BBM can only deal with one device, I believe. If you keep the same BBID, the apps you have purchased/acquired can be used on both devices without having to purchase them again. But, then again, you might have a good reason (like a new user).

Hi, it is the BBM which is mainly the issue and requests for a new ID as the existing ID is in use with the new phone.
Is there any way to allocate an ID without wiping the phone?

You can switch between devices, but you will have to transfer BBM with each switch.

    Passport SQW100-1/10.3.1.2726. And loving it.

Well, I switch between two Z10s and BBM just asks me if I wanted to switch my BBM info etc. to the new device and it did. This was no big deal. Both devices are under the same ID.
