So, I dropped my Z10 last week and pretty much destroyed the screen. It fell face down on the curb..Pic is below. I have it replaced, but now I figured I need a good protective case.

    Any suggestions?

    Hello and Welcome to CrackBerry!
Your screen broke because you are a Cowboy fan!
    Only kidding! haha

Now seriously....did you have a screen protector on it? Did you when you dropped it? That's quite a break!
I always use a screen protector, but I have a Seidio case that slides apart. Can't remember the model name. It works fine but I have never dropped it on the street. What about an Otterbox???

I was thinking about an Otterbox but I have seen some reviews that say its hard to use the swiping gestures with it..

I have a Seidio active case. It doesn't have a built in screen protector like the otterbox defender but it isn't as bulky. The active also has a built in kickstand, which is nice
. The active offers good protection without too much bulk. I've dropped my z10 a few times while the case is on and there's no damage to my phone whatsoever.

    First off, welcome to CrackBerry!

Sorry to argue with my friend, but aside from the Otterbox Defender being expensive, the Z10 version of it is the worst case I've ever had hands-on with. Built-in screen protector isn't taut against screen and the sides are high enough that they impede any swipes from side bezels.

I'd like at one of the tougher cases from Seidio like the Convert or at least the Active (aka Dilex).
Incipio makes one called OVRMLD (sp?) as well.
There's also that Trident one, but I've never seen their cases in person.

Seidio has holster available in combo and it has a sleeper magnet like OEM holsters. OVRMLD comes with a holster but it doesn't have the sleeper functionality.

Oops! Sorry I hadn't refreshed and seen posts #3-4 before I posted. They echo some parts of my post.

You could also try the Flip Shell case. Offers sufficient protection while having the screen protected also from accidental pocket key presses, and saves battery also.

What about protecting the screen? I don't want to have the same issue if I happen to drop it again.. (after Romo throws another bad pick...lol)
