Hello all. When I bought my Z10(about a year ago) I also purchased an original car charger. Never used it much because I usually plan my battery charging cycles during the night but in the past week I've been forced to use my phone as a GPS, so the car charger went into action.

Now if I leave the phone in standby it charges slowly but surely. But if I use Waze for navigation on 4G, the battery is actually draining even dough it's showing me it's charging. Now, this seems strange to me. It should at least have enough power to keep it at a stable percentage. Or this being an android port does it take up lots of juice?

Do you know any native apps for navigation, which are less power hungry?(BB Maps are out of the question).

    Thanks!

The screen brightness may have a lot to do with this. I see the same issue on my Z30 with Waze. Love the app but keeping those screens alive drains the power. Two options maybe: dim the screen a bit. Or try a charger with greater output.

As indicated, there are some apps (or screen brightness) that might drain the battery faster than some chargers can add power.

You mention "original charger" but is that a BB charger or some other? What are its power specs? I think there may be a more powerful charger by BB but I'm not sure.

Get the BlackBerry Premium car charger. Available in the Crackberry Store.

Another vote for the premium charger. It is a "daily deal" often, and it's almost half price.

Hello. Thank you for all your advice and sorry for my late reply. The charger I bought is a Blackberry Auto ACC-48181-201 microUSB(Input: 10.8-16V, Output: 5V / 1800mAh)

I have my screen quite dimmed because I hate bright screens. I'm going to try and dim it even more when I use Waze and see what happens.

You probably won't have to dim your screen with that charger.
