Capital letter following quotation?

I really love the Z10 keyboard, but there is one thing that has been really annoying about it. The letter immediately following a quotation is always capitalized, even if it is mid sentence! I really hope BB knows about this bug and fixes it in an update, and in the Q10.

Rule 1

Capitalize the first word of a quoted sentence.

Examples:
He said, "Treat her as you would your own daughter."
"Look out!" she screamed. "You almost ran into my child."

Don't be so arrogant. It is grammatically correct to *not* capitalize the first letter following a quotation in some instances. This is a good example:

Thanks, guys. Any chance we can get Kevin to report this to BB? I went on their support site, but they only seem to support asking for help over Twitter. My Twitter account is private, so I don't think I'd be able to tag them in a post and have them see it.

I know I'm bumping an old thread, but just wanted to add to this.

I get annoyed by this same issue, times I want to use the quotation marks do not warrent a capital letter.

But the MOST annoying part - when closing the quote, the last word is capitalised. Now I'm no expert, but I can't think of an example where this can be correct in any circumstance. Correct me if I'm wrong! Even if it is justified, it's probably for a small percentage of times quotes are used haha.

Any plans for this to be resolved?

I'm not the only one then, I thought I had maybe somehow inadvertently added something to the auto correct.

I believe this is what you're referring to:

"Any plans for this to be Resolved?"

Whenever I finish a quote and put a closing quotation mark, that word gets capitalised. It makes no sense and is quite annoying. Anyone who has noticed this glitch before and knows if it's been fixed with 10.1?

Mine doesn't do either of those things on the latest leaked 10.1. So they must have "fixed" it.

The only annoying bug i have found is that sometimes when i add a period to the end of my comment or coversation on my Z10...instead of capitalising the word or letter after the period, it doesnt which is annoying as i have to go back and capitalise that word or letter.

Anyone else notice this bug or am i the only one?? and yes i have updated to the official 10.1 OS but it still does it.

I'm running .85 os on T-Mobile and I also have an issue with the quotation marks not tracking back to the previous word after using the word guess feature.

Mine seems to be fixed in 10.1

On 10.1 official, neither first word nor last word capitalize in quotations. As for the first word after the period. I. Haven't. Had any. Issues. So far. (that was just testing it)
