I use windows 8 so I know it works. BlackBerry Link as well as side loading. You may want to try a different computer just to see if it works.

I'm running Windows 8, and I'm able to sideload using DDPB without any problems. And BlackBerry Link and the Z10 absolutely are compatible with Windows 8. Sounds like the problem is with your PC.

If your PC doesn't recognize your Z10 when you plug it in, try this. On your Z10, go to Settings > Storage and Access. Where it says "USB Connection: Autodetect", tap that and in the dropdown list, select "Connect to Windows". Now your PC should recognize your Z10 when you connect it via USB.

I have no problems with the Z10 and Windows 8 or side loading. Using 10.1 and have several sideloaded apps that work just fine.

Have you tested the USB port?

If you have BB Desktop Manager installed, uninstall it. Restart your computer, and plug in your Z10

Desktop Manager is for previous BlackBerry's not the newer software. I had problems with BlackBerry Link until I deleted it

Im on win8 and the first time with win8 ddpb didnt work, I though it was the os, but I found it was my antivirus kaspersky, the usb diversos work as network map drive, checa your firewall software and grant access to the ddpb
