I made the grave error of upgrading to 10.3 (I think the exact version was 10.3.1.1581 but I am not sure). It changed all of my settings and took my 10-16 hour battery life to 3 hours, and made some things not work. I had done a backup, so I tried to just restore it. The 10.3 insisted on new software, so I installed it, but it completely removed my Link, and the new software would not read my backup file and said I had never done a backup. I tried every way to do a factory reset/restore, but it just wiped the data and left me with a 10.3 that would not read the backup. I even restored my PC to get the Link back, but it still would not restore.

I found an autoloader for 10.2.0.1793 and installed it. I tried the restore again, but it said I had to update the software. I tried Darcy's Tools from Crackberry, and it said it took the version from 10.2.1.3442 to 10.0.0.0, but I still got the message that my OS needed to be updated. I cannot find a loader for 10.2.1.3442. I still have Link installed. I still have the 10.2.1.3442 backup and I just want to get back to what I had. According to Sachesi, there was a 10.2.1.3442 (STL100-3) available for Telus in Canada.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

10.2.1.3442 is in there... give it a try. (if it works you can thank Thurask)

But that said... in the future always try to have a backup for your backups...

I don't encrypt my SD Card - as I don't want to lose everything if something goes wacky with the OS (had that happen once).
The CLOUD is your friend - pictures, documents - OneDrive can save most of this.
Active Sync - both my work and personal email/calendar/contact are saved and synced to the CLOUD. Use Outlook.com for personal.
Use a backup program like Backup Pro to save some of your data to your SD Card or the Cloud.

You just never know when you may lose your device or damage it....

I did an OTA upgrade to 10.3 on Z10 STL100-3 this past Sunday evening. Battery drain went 100% - dead in approx 3.5 hours. Gave the unit some some time to settle but by Monday battery would still go dead with Network / Data OFF and no Apps running in approx 3 - 3.5 hours.

Did a lot of reading here and being on a steep learning curve regarding Autoloaders etc, found one for 10.2.1.2941 and did the install. Device Monitor showed 100% charge Monday 9:48PM. Now Thursday 6:16PM is showing 35% charge with estimated 1 day 20 hours left. Casual user. Hope this helps.

Oh I do definitely have the backup. Multiple copies actually. It is the only reason I am not completely pulling my hair out yet. lol It just won't let me restore it right now.

Thanks for the reply. I tried to download it from there already, but it wasn't cooperating. I will try again. Do you know if there are any other download locations?

I do still have my backup files, so if I can just get an OS that will let me restore, all will be fine.

I bombed my z10 once when I was not patient waiting for an upgrade. I did the restore from the pc tool and it worked great. I was able to restore my contacts through work Outlook and simply re-download apps.

My two cents tho is that somehow went wrong during the installation. I would try again. Don't see these issues in any of threads.

    Good luck
