Store guys don't and can't negotiate contracts. You'll need to call in for that. That's what I did and was quite successful.

I'm coming all the way from New York City and planning to pick up a z10 in Toronto. Anyone have any idea which carriers are selling the phone outright without a plan?

I'm considering going to the TELUS Connect store in Southcentre Calgary but not until Wednesday. I'd like to know how many each store is getting so I have an idea if they will have any left by then. Mike

Apparently Koodo is like Rogers ... you can buy the phone outright , no contract , BUT you need to get at least a pre-paid "plan" for a month and then cancel , which kinda sucks.

Koodo mobile is $550 no contract (but you need a temporary plan *apparently* will find out in the morning for sure) -- you can only get one year manufacturer warranty , no extended.

Rogers is $599 no contract , like Koodo you still need to get at least one month of a "plan" and then cancel *apparently says many people* , but unlike Koodo , Rogers has extended warranties from 7 - $10 / month.

I'm leaning towards Rogers with the extended warranty at the moment.

When I called, I was told specifically that they don't have the power to negotiate. As you said, they have the list price but who wants to pay that? By calling in you can get far better deals. Customer retentions is the only department that can hand the good ones out.

I don't know why everyone says Koodo is the cheapest... YOU HAVE TO SUBSCRIBE TO KOODO!!! you can't just show up, buy the phone, and be on your way with an unlocked phone. You need to buy the phone and, you know, actually use Koodo's services and PAY FOR IT.

If you are talking about the White phone promotion, you are not getting it for $100 less. Rogers has said this many times & So has MobileSyrup & Crackberry.

No word of a lie ... I was watching a buddies wide-screen TV and holding my BB curve , I've had Zed-10 on my mind so much I held my curve and ran my thumbs up and down wishing it was a Z-10 , exactly at that moment - during the show a BB z-10 pops up from the bottom of the screen and the words Blackberry 10 on a bottom bar. I shook my head , no friggin way I thought. That faded into a full-blown Blackberry commercial.

I thought wow ! They're psychic ... but it was just coincidence and my excitment for tomorrow.

Did you get a interaction number down & have them note it on the account? If not then i doubt it. If they did, then you are lucky as they are told that no one is getting $100 off of the $139.99 price for the white one.

IF it is, when you go to the store, you will see $139.99 charge. Once you get the device, you will need to call in & get that credit. It wont happen at the store as the reps at the store have no access to do those credits.

Rogers website has the white one under the promotion BUT it shows the $139.99 price tag. Here you go

You may want to read the small print...

No where does it say the Z10 white now does it. Yes its false advertising BUT Rogers, Crackberry & MobileSyrup said the phone is $139.99. That is the promo price.
