    Swipe down from the top click network settings and the drop down menu will allow you to switch off LTE to hspa/gsm

    HSPA/GSM bands aren't compatible with the Verizon version... just the CDMA 1900 (for voice)

    Well that's stupid. On my fido z10 I have about 5 different settings if I don't want lte.

    I think it's quite likely to be intentional, ie for traffic management purposes they don't want customers overloading their legacy 3G network.

    On the other hand, if you had an active WiFi connection and the device automatically turned-off LTE in that case, that would be an OK compromise for some people.

    (There is a "data services" on/off toggle which would presumably do manually what I just described.) (Edit: confirmed.)
