Seems after the OS update, I now have the option to encrypt the device and it's SD card.

I saw that option last night. What does "encrypting the media card" actually do?

I have a pile of naked photos of my wife on my phone, and I'd appreciate a way to make them private. And NO, I'm not posting them...

What I did was take the private photos and go to file manager and move those photos to a folder in my Dropbox section and unpinned the folder so only way to see the pics is through file manager and they don't appear in photo app unless you pin them

on your z10 go to settings and scroll down to security and privacy and there you will see the option to set passords for your device or encrypt the files your sim card but thats the extent of it as far as i kno

Better yet, why try to fix something when its not broke blackberry? The lock/hide featurw was fine the way it was on our old devices. Is backwards that you cant hide things more readily on our devices. Blackberry is slowly losing me.
