Default Can the browser stop using Bing search?

I'm finding it hard to tell the browser not to search using Bing, and use Google instead. I've got my start page set to Google but the top search bar is still bing...

Any clue how to do that? Thanks.

in the browser at the main screen, start typing in an address, you will see it bring up the searching stuff at the top, in the top right hand corner is a drop down to select your default search engine.
Change Default search engine from Bing to Google

I've been looking for that setting, checked several times, will again. I only see "Reset" search engine.

Where do you see that? Thanks. I looked hard before asking.

Do a search and change it in the dropdown, all subsequent searches for me used the one I changed it to.

Well, now I have Google page on start, and I can search through it, but bottom of the screen is the address bar and anything I type that's not an address becomes a Bing search.

I feel dumb asking for clarification, but it's not working for me.

When you type that item into the address bar you get it appear at the top of the screen with a magnifying glass on the left and the bing symbol in a dropdown on the right, simply click that dropdown and change it to google and then from then on it will default to using google instead of bing, although since they do not want to support us with apps we should really all stick to bing instead anyway.
