Hey fellow Crackberrian's im having a problem with my BlackBerry Z10 camera but i havent dropped my phone and if i switch the camera it works perfectly but if i switch back same colored screen. Any advice or should i go exchange for another unit?


If you notice the active frame its just lines like a rainbow and the phone will not allow to take a screen shot when i have the camera app open or any pictures but i can switch camera.... helppppp anyone i already did a battery pull, hard reset and still nothing should i just take it back i have insurance through Tmobile.

So if you close the camera app and reopen the app it works fine again? What OS

Before you take it back try security wipe. If you say the camera works then it sounds like a software issue

I see a screen snapshot, but no pictures from the camera. A screen snapshot is not from the camera. It is an internal graphic capture done with an app in the operating system as like with a PC computer.

What exactly do you mean when you say "switch camera?"

The front lens shows up like how i have in the active frame in the picture above and what i mean by switch camera is from the front lens camera as opposed to the back lens camera and thats the big problem if i have the camera open it WILL NOT ALLOW ME TO TAKE A PICTURE OR A SCREEN SHOT OF IT, NOTHING WORKS...
But the front lens camera works perfect no issues

And im on Z10STL100-3/10.1.0.2025 if that helps any official tmobile update and camera has been working prior to with no issues until recently.

Worst case scenario is that the censor in the front camera is broken. I had the exact same thing happen to a digital point and shoot camera.
