    Hi all! The sensor on my Z10 seems to have stopped working - meaning when I put the phone against my ear during a call, the screen will still light up, not recognizing that my ear is against the phone, and sometimes cuts off because my ear has pressed 'End Call'!!!

    I've taken it into a phone shop and they haven't been able to repair this - just wondering if there are any fixes/solutions out there for this??

    What OS version are you using? Perhaps this is a bug?

    Can you try another phone? Ask to try a working phone. It that one works, ask for a repair/replacement.

    You can download the blackberry virtual expert from BlackBerry World and run tests on your phone to determine the cause.

    This is correct. The BBVE will not fix the problem but it does check the sensor and will confirm if it is faulty.

    Hi all - using version 10.1, and tried BBV app and says 'sensor not recognized?' - must be a hardware issue??

    Very rare but yes, probably hardware. I would try reinstalling the OS first just in case
