Default Bypass US carriers to update OS for unlocked Z10

I have an unlocked Z10 in AT&T network. I followed the update on the web on blackberry's website. It didn't show any new update available. However, when you take out your sim card, it will show you the new update available. Now I am downloading the new update package. Hope this is helpful for people in US.

I terminated the downloading and retried the update on web. The OS version is 10.0.9.2372. It is not 10.0.10.

Interesting. I'm with Tmobile, but I bought my phone from Fido in Canada. I didn't try without a sim card, but I took out the Tmobile sim card and put the Fido one that I initially got with the phone, which gave me the update. Several other users have done that as well, and I only found out after rav813 suggested I give it a try.

If true then this is awesome, if your carrier is lazy just take the SIM out and update directly from BBRY to the latest... would this cause any problem at all with your carrier specific configuration or apps?

Hi, I tried the same. Turned off the phone, removed the SIM (and the battery) but when it turned on I didn't get the update. What you did to get the update? Was it over the air? Did it came immediately?

I tried this, when you click the "check for updates" button on the website, it tries to find your device, and my PIN doesn't show up as being connected...I'm connected to USB, and the deice manager sees the PIN, but the website app doesn't.

I have the 10.0.10.261 when I removed my sim card and done checked the update in the web it is asking me to updated to 10.0.9.388 !!! I have googled this OS version and it appeared to be an old version back on January for developers, my phone is a retail phone not a developer phone , even through Blackberry link I'm getting the same update, but whenever I tried to update it fails.

What was the exact process you used? Did you end up with 10.0.10.85? I tried every which way I could think of and no love...

Can you provide step by step instructions on how you accomplished this?

Sure, I have a Rogers Z10 on AT&T. By the way I was on the leaked OS 10.0.10.648 before updating so I don't know if this makes a difference.

I removed the SIM card booted back up and connected to my laptop. I went to the Blackberry update site BlackBerry - Software Updates - New Update Software for BlackBerry Smartphones - US and clicked on the update link. It found the update and updated my phone. It did wipe everything so I am now setting it up again

Just noticed the OP has been edited...turns out it's NOT the new 10.0.10.85 update after all, it's an earlier 10.0.9.x version

As I stated before I was on the Leaked OS 10.0.10.648 when I updated. I didn't see anyone that failed to update mention they were on the leaked OS

I tried again on another computer that didn't already have BB Link installed, with the SIM out...this time it connected and checked for updates, but said there were no updates available...I'll have to wait for an autoloader I guess...
