I know this won't be popular. But I think I found a build problem with the Z10.

I had now 3 Z10's from UK and all of them had the same problem. Some more, some less. There are blind spots on the display glass. Looks like there is a problem with the coating. You won't see them when the screen is clean but you will see them when you have finger prints on the screen. I will try to make a photo. Really annoying.
You can try yourself. Swipe you thum over the whole screen and your fat fingers will bring the spots to light.

And one of the Z10s has already a pixel error. After two weeks of use..

I am a huge fan of the Z10 and sad to see this happens again like with the 9900.

I don't have that problem....but I do recall the sales person (Bell Canada) advising me to remove the protective film which the phone is shipped with "as soon as you can" because RIM/BB people told her that it wasn't actually good for the glass if the phone was on.?

(The only problem i've had with build quality is that the micro-usb connection is incredibly tight. Maybe the build quality is too good...)

That "Problem" has been widely reported, but honestly, it's a non issue. You would literally need to look for those spots to see anything. As for the pixel issue, that happens on every LCD from time to time, it's not a build quality issue considering BlackBerry doesn't even build the LCD. It seems like you're one of those very anal users no company wants to have as a customer. Then again, maybe I'm just desensitized after owning a crappy Samsung penile AMOLED with random lines all over the screen that I had to up up with for the entire time I wonder the galaxy nexus? Not sure, but it seems to me like you're being very picky.

Well maybe it is me or you didn't read well enough. I am a blackberry fan and I like the device. Anyway not very happy with the spots and just asking if someone else can confirm that . That pixel error I encountered as bad luck. Nothing more. So calm down or s*** u*

BTW. I read here every day. Where did u find the other reports about that spot issue?

I prefer to enjoy my Z10 than trying to look for defects. My Z10 is in very good shape built wise, have not observed issues so far. Screen is beautiful, call quality is good. Data connection is good. My only gripe is the LCD is a little yellowish versus my iphone but I can live with that.

I know I've seen at least one thread about the spots on the screen, I'd say maybe a few weeks ago. If you do a Crackberry search, you might find it.
Or maybe it was in a review? I can't remember.

Yes i can also confirm that i have also seen in one thread where the spot on the screen was mentioned, Here it is Odd smudges on screen... maybe it's the same thing you are experiencing steiale? judging by what is being posted in that thread the spot can be removed.

Since we're talking about build quality, may I ask if some of you already have scratches on your screens? Does it easily scratch? I don't use screen protectors, my iPhone 4S' screen still looks fresh even without screen protector for almost 2years now. Im waiting for AT&T's Z10.

There was a post about the spots around here before. I am not to sure though. I will put a screen protector on asap and will be getting a nice case.

If you are a genuine fan, why didn't you title the thread in a less negative way? Like "Does anyone else have this screen issue?" or "Has anyone else noticed this on their screen?"

It just seems to me that there's an overabundance of people throwing up thread titles that try and caste the phone in a negative light for anyone just casually browsing for info on this new product.

Or maybe I'm just being oversensitive ...

Cant see these so called smudges that the OP is saying that he has had on 3 of his Z10's...ive had my Z10 since last tues, picked it up from phones 4 u and its been good as gold...build quality is superb i find unlike my 9900 which suffered from squeaky call buttons.

Methinks the OP is a bit too OCD if hes actively looking for these spots.

It could be done to solicit reaction? Views? Never the less its annoying.
There is alot of "The sky is falling " on crackberry.
Im not minimizing the issues some posters present, everyone has their own set of wants, needs and expectations, i guess i got lucky on feb 5th 2013 when Rogers sold me the z10...

Sorry I do not see troll here. The title has a question mark and therefore not a statement and the OP is a long time member. I can understand his frustration though and I don't think he is being OCD about it. When you see a blemish, especially on the part of the phone you will always look at you cant stop seeing it and that can get frustrating.

I have the same issue.....I wipe the screen clean and it looks perfect...as the inevitable finger smudges appear, there are a number of areas of the screen that remain clean; as if there is a smudge proof coating on certain areas, very strange. I've read the thread on smudges posted above. It's too much of a hassle to exchange so I've put on a screen protector; hopefully this will eliminate the problem.

So, I agree with you that the problem exists.
