Browser Speed Test: Z10 vs. iPhone 5
So I was hanging out with a few buddies of mine, aka #iSheep, and one of them started asking me questions about my Z10 and whether or not I like it. That naturally lead into the trash talking ( which I LOVE getting into with #iSheep) and that lead into a requested challenge: "Bro! Let's see how slow your BlackBerry is loading a webpage compared to my iPhone 5!"..............."Alright!" I said.
I let him choose the sites of his choice. We did a best of 3 and my other 3 buddies each got a turn to do the honours. The sites chosen in order: National Geographic, CNN and ESPN.
Round 1: Z10 fully loaded a full 2 seconds quicker.
Round 2: Z10 fully loaded a full 3 seconds quicker
Round 3: iPhone loaded a full 2 seconds quicker............ but that's when I noticed the iPhone had loaded the mobile version of ESPN and my Z10 loaded the full desktop site. So Z10 takes that round too.
So there it was, 3 for 3. IPHONE gets trumped and to the disbelief and amazement of 3 iPhone users/testers witnesses. Felt good keeping the #iSheep quiet.

It's not about speed, it's about standards compliance, here's my Z10 result

Opera was the most standard compliant browser for a long time. Not so sure if that helped a lot. Speed though.... but that a BlackBerry has a superior browser to android and iOS wow. Who would have thought :-) BlackBerry is truly back in the game.

My Z10 is way faster than my upgraded PC. That scored 378 + 10 bonus points. My Z10 romped in at 485 + 11 bonus points on the HTML% speed test. I prefer browsing via my Z10 much better than my PC. Only downside is the screen size, but I guess I could hook it up to my TV/monitor via my micro HDMI lead. Also a keyboard to work with my Z10 to & hey presto I basically have a much faster mini PC! Hehe! ; )

Here we go again with the browser speed test.
If you want to impress your "#iSheep" friends why don't you put the Z10 against the iPhone 5 on a website that has lots of JavaScript? (I like to use nhl.com, the Z10 can't render the full website properly)
Benchmarks are great to inflate fanboi's ego's but in the real world, the Z10 browser is actually pretty good and so is the iPhone. The fact is the Z10 stinks on JavaScript just like the iPhone stinks at Flash sites. And yes, I'm fully aware that the iPhone can't do Flash. The reason big new things sneak by incumbents is that the next big thing always starts out being dismissed as a “toy.” This is one of the main insights of Clay Christensen’s “disruptive technology” theory. - 03-08-2013, 07:13 AM #17
Isn't the whole point that there are going to be a lot more html5 websites in the future, slowly replacing the need to download apps to your device? I thought a big part of making the Z10 so good at html5 was that it helped make it future proof to some extent? As we're seeing a decline in java and a move towards html5?

I'm not sure if higher the number the better, but here is my test with an iPhone 5 and Z10 both on Rogers LTE network:

I'm assuming higher is better as my iMac scored a 426

My iPhone 4 is very slow.

That has nothing to do with the speed of your browser or even your phone. That's a limitation of your mobile carrier and the speed of their network, and what you're actually paying for. For example, on my WiFi at home, I get 78.35 Mbps down, and 5.62 Mbps Up. On LTE in downtown Toronto or Rogers, I get 27.67 Mbps down and 27.70 Mbps Up.
