Most important feature is missing. We need to be emailing blackberry support to urge them to bring back the flashing network coverage LED. It was green and awesome.

Bring it back!...bring it back !!..

I don't understand the importance of having it. All it told you was that you were connected to the network, right? If so, why not just look at the bars in the top-right?

Being in a loud and noisy room where I sometimes didn't get a signal - I'd glance at my BlackBerry in the holster or on a nearby rack, if there was a Red light - I knew there was a message - if there was a Green light I knew I at least had a signal, but no message - if there was no light at all, I knew to move my phone. The light wasn't for everyone - that's why you could turn it on and off

The option to have it or not is the important thing. I used it. I liked it, and I could turn it off if I wanted.

Perhaps an app could be made do this. There is already an app which can flash the LED whatever colour you pick and will carry on doing so when the phone is locked as long as the app is running. I wonder if a similar app could be made to only flash when there is reception.

... if having network access is an "event" - than the annoying green blinking might be important ;-)

to be honest, that was the first customization I turned of, but I think its important to have the CHOICE !

The IMPORTANCE is that you can glance at your phone from across the room and see if you have service. For those who are not in a good coverage area, that is priceless. Those who it "annoyed the !$^#%^", turn it off!

    Choice is ALWAYS good!

    Bring back BIS!

I agree... I want it back. It's not vital in the city but I always liked it for knowing if my antenna was on if nothing else.

I'm all for choice, so ya, bring back the different coloured LEDs. They're all there anyway (ya I sometimes go 5% and below with my battery too you whippersnappers! I'm, like, living on the edge too sometimes man!).

Yep definitely missing my green light blinking, it made it stand out compared to other phones ie people would always know it's a BlackBerry due to the flashing led.

Hopefully they will bring it back along with better profile management and most of all...BEBUZZ!!!!.

I need that app as I'm missing it far too much..

My first blackberry came with it on. And because I thought it was supposed to be like that, I fell in love with the green light.

yeah, i remember getting my 9000 and reading BB 101, helps and tips... there was one that said to turn it off! So i did... never really needed it personally but it's very smart/practical as many have pointed out.

Yea i liked having that on my 9900. Color notification, so at a glance I'd know if it was important or not!

I'm a broadcast engineer. On call 24 hours a day. And the one that may be more terrifying then 'dead air' is no blinking green light on my blackberry.

I live in an area with poor cell service. I use BBM to talk to my gf. When I had my 9900 and there was no blinking green light. I had to turn on my wifi in order for my BBM to work. Now I find myself just leaving my wifi on all the time. And usually forget to turn it off till my battery is dead. BRING IT BACK
