My saga with the battery ended with the service center changing my phone with a new one. I guess the problem wasnt the battery after all, it was the phone. They changed my phone not the batterry. Now Im using the new phone with the old battery and everything is alright....at least for now.

I think my battery problem now is fixed. Yesterday my z10 shutdown at 50% battery level. I decided to switched my battery to my friend who has z10 too and found out that the battery level is totally drained. I charged my battery with his z10 until it reached 12%. And I used his battery for a couple minutes too. After that I put back my battery on my z10 to continue charging. And then last night, I decided to drain my battery to check if it will still died at 30-50%. I was surprised that it did not die on that level and my z10 gave me notifications when it reaches the 20% and 10% battery level. I'm still observing my phone whether my battery issue is fixed already.

    Sorry for my English.

The jury is still out on an answer in general but look two posts above yours for one answer.

I am returning my Z10 back to BlackBerry here are some reasons that Z10 has to go back:

    1) Over Heating during BBM (Group chat) / WhatsApp / FB / BB App world / Web browsing on Stock browser

    2) Battery very quick drain specially during browsing on a stock browser and overheating (NET: 3G /H+) 3) Rapid Battery Discharge needs Multiple charging During the Day (Unsustainable Battery Backup)

    4) Twitter New tweets not pushing

    5) Rapid Resets over 5 times at a single stretch with high over heating specially during travelling and roaming. Battery Removed from the device and after cooling the battery directly falls to 10% and low battery alert and Device switches off.

    6) Very Sluggish performance specially switching between apps and opening apps

    7) Battery does not charge beyond 87% (Temporary Solution Unplug Charger wait till the drain to 60% and Plug in the charge to obtain 100% charging.

Plus the never ending bugs, BlackBerry you made the worst OS and worst phone ever.

My phone was shutting down at 25%. Just received replacement unit under warranty (just phone, not battery), now it is showing 8% and going down.

May be you started to notice it only after 10.1 update. For example I have updated to 10.1 on first day I got the phone, so I can not say how it would behave on 10.0.

During month period it was very strange. I remember values of 3, 8, 12, 18, 25, 38 and even 53%. I have been trying all sorts of solutions from here and BlackBerry board and this process sort of stoped at 20-25%.

Now I think more a more, that this is a phone problem. By the way yesterday started to charge phone at 2%

Notice the health going down from 121 to 97 at the same time.

Guys, avoid installing leaks or official os when your battery is less than 30% battery level. Like what I've said, my issue about shutting down was fixed until I updated my os a while ago when my battery was less than 30%. So if I were you, try to install OS with 100% battery level. I will swap my battery to my friend again tomorrow. And I hope my battery bundle will arrive tomorrow too.

My z10 still shut off at 55% (~3,5v) but BB works almost 20h on one charge...I calculate when BB will shut off by observing battery voltage... and this is quite accurate...

Let me get this straight - you think that because you loaded the leaked OS when you had 30% battery ony, is what's causing your device to shut down when it reaches 30% battery left? You're toying with us, right? I mean...no one would believe you surmised this - so I figure you're just kidding around and being sarcastic in some kinda weird way, right?

Excuse me mister. Do you think I'm toying with everyone here ? Even my phone has a problem regarding battery reading. So if I were you, just post something relevant. Maybe it could help us solve our issue.

Ok. So this is my problem. Yesterday my phone turned off when battery was at 70%, but lasted all day just like before. Before that, the phone was shutting down at 12%, 17% and it was the same time of usage. The other battery shows the correct percentage. So I think it's just a matter of wrong reading percentage of the battery. What to do? Thanks

I had this problem before and I got the battery changed under warranty a month ago, and it was working fine, till I installed the 2012 stl-1 leak, then on the first day my phone shut down at 10%...
As soon as I discovered the issue I reinstalled the official 1720 from my carrier using sachup and drained the battery till it shutdown again at 10%, then plugged it into the usb of the laptop, then wait till phone turned on. At this moment the battery showed 12% and I received a phone call lasting 3-4 min, after the phone call I remarked that the battery has decreased to 11% then 10% then 0%, I removed it from the usb and wait till complete discharge and shutdown, then plugged it in the wall charger, and luckily enough the battery showed 3% and increased till 100%... my battery meter was fixed, and now the phone shuts at 0% as it should...
Maybe my fix will work for others... good luck
