did a quick try out of the Z-10 two week ago.
i removed the audio to protect my contact's identity
also this version was not updated with the newest revision and didn't have all the gestures/features added.

ultra quick
very smooth
videos that are out there don't show how fluid and responsive it is
i am a BB9900 user and couldn't conceive using a full touch screen
but after using the Z-10. i can tell u that because of the auto-correction, it pretty much eliminate the typing errors i made
screen resolution is so crisp..wow
he had told me 2 weeks ago that the release date would be the 4th Feb

I drive an Infiniti as well. How well did the BT pairing work and is the sound quality still very good through the car mic and speakers?

What I'm really hoping is to be able to import my phonebook into mine, thats one thing that always bothered me with my 9900. Everytime I get a call I only see the phone number on the display and I never know who that is...

i didnt try to sync it with my Infiniti M35x
but im working on a new video 2night.
i already have a few of them made but i need my contacts approval b4 uploading them since i wanna make sure nothing cant trace it back to him
the video that i made is of the Z-10 plugged to an HD tv through hdmi so u guys will have a nice view of it.
ill try to show everything from boot time to web browsing.

Hmm, mine always shows the callers name on the car LCD and the phone contacts fully sync with the car phone book. - (11 G35S w Nav using a BB9800)

Sorry OP, we're not trying to derail your thread. Just exited about BB10

Ive only got an 07 G35x, maybe my software is too old... The phone features work fine (answer/hangup/volume etc), just not the phonebook.

But back on the main subject to the OP could you also get your hands on a pre-release Inifiniti Q50 All-New 2014 Infiniti Q50 Technology | Infiniti USA and see how it works with the Z10?

But seriously, one thing I am curious about is how does the back of the phone feel? Is rubberized like the Playbook or does it have a more plastic feel?

the back is more rubberish / plastic not 100% like the back of a PB but similar feel.
When u remove the back u dont have to worry that ur gunna break the cover because it is sturdy
i removed the back several times without an itch
i also tested the voice control on this early build and im pretty much able to do the same things as in SIRI
ask for time / weather / phone calls

whats super kool about the voice calling its that when the phone dials out a contact thats in ur bbm friend list
it actually is able to pronounce the name + whatever u wrote as a tag
ex: on bbm you go by the name Obama - The Great

well when u say the command *call Obama*
the phone actually says * CALLING OBAMA THE GREAT *

Looks like you are having trouble with the gestures and have to try the same one over and over again at a few different points in the video.. any comment on that?

i thought i had seen it done in a past video
i can assure u guys that there are 0 issues with the software/phone

also the phone i had didnt have all the features in it
so i couldnt get the BB BALANCEe to work of the TIME SHIFT cam.

the reason i didnt put the follow up video was because the Z-10 crashed will being wiped at the data center
so we had to wait for Rim to send us a new image
it got loaded like 1 hr ago. its a 1.2gb image krazy. but its back up and running.
i know i wont be able to post then next video up 2night but i can assure u guys Saturday afternoon it will be there

also in the mean time if u guys can draft a checklist of what you would like me to cover / show
ill try my best.

They got rid of the keyboard gesture a couple of versions of BB10 ago on the Dev Alpha. I don't think that gesture will be present in BB10...

Seems like an odd thing to take away.. it happens relatively often with my playbook that I need to pull up the keyboard manually because it didn't pop up for whatever reason.. obviously they think they've perfect this and it will always pop up when needed, but why not leave the gesture there just in case?
