Hi, im wondering if anybody have the same problem as me....
I usually turn my BB Z10 off during the night and turn on when i woke up... The problem is the phone will heats up real bad(as bad as playing graphic intense game). It will consume a lot pf battery indeed and will not stop until i turn on airplane mode for 5 minutes and turn it back on. Its hot not on the battery but rather on the other side of the phone.
Usually if i turned it off for about 5 min or more the heat problem will appear

Im on the latest(not leak) OS i have that issue since i bought it, returned them because of the problem and got a new one with the same problem
My Z10 has been updated for about 2 weeks by now....

    Model: Z10 STL 100-1
    Software Release:10.2.1.537
    OS version:10.2.1.1925
I got a good full bar 3G and EDGE signal
    Original battery
    Not changing any Micro SD
    NFC Off
    Bluetooth Off
    Wifi off
    Location service OFf
    Only 3G on
Any one had the same problem or a permanent solution? Thanks

Have you done a restart. The version 1 should follow the second instruction:

    Try a restart:

Press and HOLD both Vol Up/Down buttons. Keep holding while the screen goes fully black (ignore the screenshot), keep holding through the Black/White logo and when the Colored Logo shows up, release those buttons.

If you have the STL100-1 variant the volume button reset method doesn't work. In that case, Press and HOLD the Power On Button until you see the LOGO as above

When you turn it on, have you looked at the Device Monitor to see if something is churning in the background? See if there's an app that is "stuck on stupid"?

I believe I've seen a few threads about this issue in the past and the solution was to reload the os and don't restore from backup. The idea is that there is a slight bit of "corruption" in the os that can be easily rectified with a fresh os load.

Go here and download Taskmanager from app world. Run it and it will show any apps running in the background (android apps are usually the culprit) then select kill all and your done.

I just had the same issue and hence I came onto the CB forum....
I too have an STL100-1 and my phone restarted while in pocket. It was running fine an hour before... and heats up like crazy!!

I have not been able to rectify the issue even with OS reloads... dont know what to do!

It does sound like hardware problem. Does Device Monitor show what is using the Battery and/or the CPU?

Have you downloaded the free Task Manager and looked for what Android apps, if any, might be running? Are you in a low signal area for cell service - if the phone has to look for a cell signal it can use the battery faster.

I installed 10.2.01.2228 on my z10 and it solved the heating issue for me. Got the software from the forum..its a T-Mobile release.

I used the autoloader option. You guys should try it out.

Is this version still working well for you? I have had numerous issues with 10.2.2141 hot battery, PIM draining battery, and Link cal/contacts sync no longer works. Ready to try a new OS version, just want to make sure it is stable long term.
