My blackberry z10 keeps turning off without prior notice of a low battery. It turms off and displays that it needs charging. I charge it, and when it turns on, i check the battery and it's almost full (83%, 73%...) what might be going on? It's still new the battery can't be a problem now... It just displays: turning off device and it goes off.

Keep in mind that the battery was not getting empty

Definitely battery problem, try to change it with another one with your carrier.

mine was having the exact same problem full battery then switches off and displays battery low and I have to plug it in to get it to power on, its less than a month old. I took the device back to my carrier for inspection, they loaned me an S3, but I'm seriously missing my Z10. One thing I noticed with some of the battery monitoring apps is that my battery temperature was always around 37'c....

I would recommend trying a new/different battery. If you can, take your Z to your carrier where you bought the phone and tell them about the issue. Maybe they'll just grab a new battery for you if you're lucky

I got a call from my carrier saying they fixed the problem, so I picked up my Z10 when I got back to my office, problem still there so I took it back and they gave me the S3 again to use they are replacing my phone with a new Z10 but I have to wait two weeks for them to get new stock in.

There is already thread for that. Used to have this problem too. With new battery problem returns as reported by other people.

My solution - replaced just phone under warranty and battery stayed the same. So far 20+ charge cycles starting from 2% battery.

I have STL100-1 by the way.

after using the new battery for a month or so, i thought i'd give the old battery a try. the last time i used it and my phone turned off, the battery indicated that it was almost half way full. so i inserted it, and plugged it in. phone started charging, surprisingly the battery indicated that it was 10% and charging, then suddenly dropped to 0% and continued charging. now i'm using my z10 with the old battery and it works great!
be careful btw, the new battery i got was a fake, i could tell because there was no hologram on the back, and it didn't last as much as the original one used to.

just thought i'd share my experience!
