    I prefer Zed myself, and I'm a yank. I haven't polled my RIM friends. I will however, start using Zulu when talking to a couple BlackBerry bashers at work.

    300ZX was pronounced with a zee
    As a car enthusiast, who's always had an affection for the Z (especially the original 240), I can definitely confirm. It's been a Zeecar, and always will be.
    Ok well thanks for setting me straight! I was trying to find a precedent for the use of Zed for a product in the US and really thought they were called Zed cars there too. *I* will always call them zed cars

    I am a Canadian living in the states. Calling this a Zed10 would be a HUGE marketing mistake in my opinion. This name would be the focus of additional jokes headed blackberrys way.
    We dont need that....please call it Zee10

    Fact of the matter is, a VAST majority of the world says ZED. Here in Canada it's the 350ZED, 300ZEDX, A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y, ZED... NOT ZEE
    Remember that the US by population is quite a bit larger than Canada - 320 million vs what, 40 million or so? The UK is 62 million, Australia is 22 million and New Zealand is 4.3 million.

    US English-as-first-language speakers outnumber all other countries put together, I think (I'm not sure how many in India use English as a first language though so I could be completely wrong just because of that).

    Also Greek alphabet derived languages don't call it Zee or Zed. Russian seems to call the equivalent letter ze, like zed without the D it sounds like.

    Really we are all pronouncing it wrong. It is zeta.

    This is a very good point. This would open it up a bit to mocking which should be avoided.

    Until the name of the L-series was finally given, and the response to it on this forum, I didn't know anyone called the last letter of the english alphabet anything other than "zee" ("Zulu in the military, not withstanding).

    Zed's name in MIB was spelled out that way. Maybe he was meant to be Agent Z, but I never made that connection.

    And, yeah, even here in South Louisiana, the Nissan Z cars were "zee" cars. Even going back to when they were Datsuns.

    Trust me - it is Zed everywhere except the U.S. where Zee started being used relatively recently. Read this:

The letter 'Z' is pronounced 'zed' almost everywhere except the US. Research In Motion should have named the BlackBerry 10 smartphone after African Tribes although that might spark riots in certain parts of Africa, so maybe the names BlackBerry Earth, BlackBerry Fire, BlackBerry Water, BlackBerry Wind.
