When I was reading BlackBerry Singapore Facebook page, I found a user asking if the OS updates will be pushed directly to the phone without depending on the carriers.

BlackBerry replied,

"The updates will be pushed straight to your phone! Do check out BlackBerry 10 software updated to 10.0.10.85: Top 5 Improvements �Inside BlackBerry - The Official BlackBerry Blog for more information on the software updates."

This is a good news to BB10 Singapore fans. Hopefully the OS updates will be hassle free similar to the PlayBook.

But this will be exactly the same way, as it currently is for everyone else: update will be pushed to your phone, when your carrier decides....

As I understand, the best option to get the update before your carrier releases it is to get the SIM card from the provider who already released the new OS version and plug it in.

That sucks. PlayBook OS update is smooth, wish Z10 could do that.
