    I just realized that to lock your phone through blackberry protect, it needs data signal.

    Why not also include the option to lock your phone through sms. I had a phone that had the option to send a specific text message and the phone will lock.

    I think this is more reliable since sms is more likely available in low signal areas. And for some reason, it takes a long time for BlackBerry Protect to lock my phone even when I have data on.

    ...that's not a bad idea. Maybe something could be proposed to BlackBerry.

    When you tested the locking feature via BlackBerry Protect, did you have data and WIFI on? I wonder if that somehow slowed down the connection\response.

    Yeah I have both wifi and data on. I would think it would improve response.
