Running Z-10 with 10.2.1.1055 and noticed blackberry maps is not working. When I tap it to open it opens a screen and then immediately closes. I thought perhaps a remove and re-install might cure it but am having difficulty with that. I can't seem to remove it via BlackBerry World, or app manager so even tried long press on the maps icon and the trash can isn't there? Does anyone have any thoughts, a cure, or additional trouble shooting ideas?

    Thanks much!

Same verizon phone and Leaked OS and mine is working. Just pinpointed me accurately.

    Try a restart:

Press and HOLD both Vol Up/Down buttons. Keep holding while the screen goes fully black, keep holding through the Black/White logo and when the Colored Logo shows up, release those buttons.

If you have the STL100-1 variant the volume button reset method doesn't work. In that case, Press and HOLD the Power On Button until you see the LOGO as above

Might be that it's not updated for the leaked OS or there's a bug in the leaked OS.

Try updating OTA to 10.2.0.429. Everything works fine.

I'm on 10.2.1.1055, don't want to downgrade to an earlier OS. I have rebooted several times, no change. Running a STL100-4. My wife is running same phone and same OS and hers is working. How can I delete the app so I can try a reinstall?

This happened to me as well. It's the BB Maps upgrade. If you upgrade maps, you'll need to reinstall the OS again. A system wipe won't do it. It took me about 6 BB Maps upgrades/wipes to figure it out.

Thanks for the info, although not what I was hoping to hear. Really don't want to re-install OS and go through all the hassle of re-installing all the apps and setup accounts. Maybe just wait for a BlackBerry maps update or a new leak.

Installing an OS is better than leaving the device sit in a case, unused until whatever it is you're waiting for comes out, lol.

Try using an official OS instead of unproven, half baked leaks. It works.

You don't have to reinstall all your apps. When you make a back up on BlackBerry Link, all the settings, apps, etc. Will be backed up as well.

After the OS is loaded (an official one) restore the device, using your backup. Quite. Simple.

Would much prefer to just not use Blackberry Maps for now. Definitely don't want to give up all the great features on 10.2.1.1055. It's been a super stable OS version for me other than this glitch. Haven't had any troubles otherwise. Just to many good things to give up by downgrading. Loving. 1055 and the new features as well as the ability to smoothly install APK files. Maybe a new version of maps will be forthcoming and installing that will remedy the issue.
