Just read this news article saying a Canadian network is testing a new BlackBerry device. Its 5 inches and suppose to be the flagship model?... Could this be a device which could be dropped with 10.2? (Seeing as Q10 was dropped with 10.1) Rumored tablet on their yearly road map? Anyone want to check up on this with BlackBerry sources

Yes, it's the Aristo - 5' phablet with quad-core processor. It's not really news, but it's still exciting news (at least or phablet lovers)!

If I'm not mistaken I think a while back it was made clear that this first round of devices weren't meant to be flagship devices, it was always the Aristo.

Wow. Five feet is awfully big for a phone. :-)

Then why the heck price the BlackBerry Z10 at premium level of CAD699.99?

It was the flagship. Then the Q10 will be the flagship, and then when Aristo comes out that will be the flagship. All others will be scuttled economically.

I just hope they get the screen right this time. I still can't get past that yellow tint on the Z10.

By the time the 5inch model comes out the Z10 will be 6months old at least. Yes it will be bigger and more powerful, I have no doubt of that. I love my Z10 and have no need of a larger device so I will be waiting for the Z10 mk2 with all those improvements in a smaller package.

BB do need a beast of a device to come out swinging at all the android devices. And the people who do like larger devices. This is not a bad thing, its just progress.

This is simple. Just take all the great things about BB10 now and eliminate the bad stuff learned thus far, cram that into the most ridiculous piece of hardware and tech imaginable. Doesn't even matter if it's over kill!

A touch of bridge functionality so I can use my PlayBook again.....a dash of Android runtime update to 4.2 and voila!

You got yourself kick *** phone! BOO - YAH!

Better overkill than underkill (is that a word? lol)

If the specs don't match the highest-end phones when it comes out people will pronounce it dead on arrival.

It's gonna say "Blackberry" on it, they'll already be pronouncing it DOA.

agreed, like hte s4 to the s3. if they can make the z10 any smaller at all while retaining or even increasing screen size even by a small margin AND improving internally then i'm sooooo in on THAT phone. i really like my z10, don't think i'd want to go any bigger though. better, sure.

that being said, i don't think this phone is a bad idea, it's a great idea. tonnes of people like the almost tablet/phone combo, it's just not for ME.

So this is the A series? Nothing wrong with them showing the world BlackBerry is never going back to their old ways. Like everyone says, it's going to years to gain back the trust of consumers. I can't think of a better way if this is true.

The best thing is that by the time the Aristo releases we'll have 10.2 in release, and safe to say quite a few more apps. There will be a lot less to criticize.
