A friend of mine works at Blackberry. He informed me last night that Blackberry is having an Employees only sale on the Z10.

Each employee can buy up to 10 units at the discounted rates. The only catch is, that it is considered a taxable benefit for the amount above the purchase price.

The units are selling for $100 each (+tax on original price+Shipping) .. it will probably cost the employees after you factor the tax hit they will take around $225-250 depending on how much they make per year.

So if you know anyone that works at BB you can get the Z10 for around $225-$250 all in

They did this with the playbook right before they announced that they had 1000s in overstock and unsold. I picked up 2 16gb play books for $99 each at that time.

Looks like BB is trying to sell off some extra stock of the z10

Limited profitability, but they will jack up the revenue and get rid of surplus.

Thanks to this thread, I contacted someone I know who works at Blackberry and I ordered a Z10 through them. Also ordered a holster and HDMI cable. The accessories are cheap too! I can finally ditch my 9900! Thanks for the heads up

Wish I knew someone that worked at Blackberry. I would gladly scoop a Z10 as a backup for <$200 brand new.
