Well I like my OtterBox. It gives you that nice protected feeling and doesn't impede the gestures as much as you would think.

I have the carbon holster which I find is tough to slide the phone in & out. ( I felt that people at my 3 o clock may get a Z10 up their nut with this one ). The flip case which I find isn't comfortable, along with the transform case which I favour.

This is based on my personal experience. Bought twa Z10s on launch day in Toronto, since then we have tried "Flip shell" didn't like the fact that the charging port was hidden so you always have to flip back to gain access. Tried "Transform", found that it didnt offer enough protection, sides are exposed. Tried "Otterbox Defender" bone headed design impedes your ability to use gestures especially from the bottom except if you have really pointed fingers and finally yesterday I bought the iSkin and so far its the best for me. My advise to you is to do your research and see what the reviews are on various sites. Otterbox generally has been a major disappointment everywhere.

Agreed. I was hesitant to go with Otterbox because of the odd review about the perceived tactile issues around the bezel. As it turns out it is just fine and the new design or material that Otterbox has incorporated in all their cases means the cases have an improved seal around the outer edge (no stretching out of shape) and better dust caps on the ports. I had an issue in the past with another older version OB case on another phone and Otterbox simply sent out a replacement no questions asked. That in itself is worth my continued business. IMHO

flip case is what i use, but kinds of makes it feel a tad unstable when using 1 handed with my right hand.
but its a good case. just needs to have a magnet lock the front part of the caseZ10 Brigade member - 03-03-2013, 04:59 PM #10
I got the flip case, good protection but found that the flip front cover only has to move a little to put the screen on and found this drained my battery. I bought the holster case and it's a good case and helped with the battery.

OtterBox, I hated it at first but after I popped off the built-in screen protector and replaced it with ghost armor, I love the case.
and BTW, you need to add/glue on another thin magnet on top of the existing one if you want to have the sleeper function to work.______________________________________

Great responses, everyone! Very helpful!
One question I have about the Transform Shell is that while it comes with a screen protector (which I've heard is quite good), it appears that the protection is mainly for the corners and back of the device. Is anyone noticing any damage to the front and sides of the device while using a Transform Shell (or anything else that leave those parts uncovered)? - 03-03-2013, 05:29 PM #15
Same here. Never understood how people need to dress their phones up like tanks because they're so daft that they cant hold it without dropping it. Leather pouch protects it in your pocket and saves the battery, then just slide it out when you're using it and you get to use the phone how it was meant to be used, and it looks like how it's meant to look.

I have the iskin case and I really like it. I just wanted something to protect from scratches on the back and sides. I like that I can still see the BlackBerry logo through the back but it is covered still.

I just ordered the Case-Mate Rosewood trimmed case.
It's a steal online on this site.
Retails for $80 most places, here with discount coupon about $45 all in - delivered!

I got a soft shell with screen protector by Melkco from Rogers store in Vancouver. They installed the screen protector for me too, free of charge. It looks great, very slim and almost invisible. $19.99.
However, I noticed that I sometimes have to peck harder to start the app. Sensitivity of the touch screen was effected.

I bought an Otterbox Defender used it for about 3 days and took it off. Gestures are a little tricky and it is just too big and clunky for everyday use
Not yet sure if I will put it back on except for when on ATV or using chainsaw.Canuck by birth, 'berry by choice
