    This keeps happening on my wife's Z10. Have I overlooked a setting? I've searched and compared hers to mine and can't see any differences, but now I'm wondering if I'm even looking in the right place. Please help!

    Odd. I've tried mine with and without a power source and it never fades to all black. Works fine both ways.

    Not sure about the rest off you but I just double checked mine, if its not plugged in it will eventually fade to black, if it is plugged in the screen will stay on. There are two ways of invoking bed side mode, one form the lock screen one from the clock. Doesn't appear to make a difference to me but maybe it does. I don’t believe there are any other options that affect it.

    It does make like 3 fades, darker, then darker again, then black...

    Mirk, I stand corrected. I checked again and u r indeed correct.

    Perhaps this is a deliberate design to preserve the battery.
