    Default Bedside

Just wanted to see your guys' opinion.. when you put your z10 on charge at night (mine on my side table) do you guys leave it in bedside mode (slide the thing down) or do you just leave it like that.

My only concern is the fact that the screen is on all night when it's in bedside mode all night long.

I use mine as my bedside clock when in bedside mode. It's very dim and I doubt it will impact the screen much.

If it really bothers you, put it in bedside mode and then turn the screen off.

Why does the screen being on bother you?
Just for wearing out the screen?

I have had all 9xxx series models in bedside mode and also iPhone 4/4s/5 all in bedside mode. Nothing happened to any of them.

this is still a relatively new phone and definitely a new OS. i read threads here about how after waking up, the phone freezes on a black screen while trying to get out of bedside mode. better to be safe than disappointed

For me it's just annoying.. keeps me up at night so I like the screen off.. but then if I get a notification, the led blinks all night..
If I put it in bedside mode and turn off the screen, it turns on again later...
Oh well, I'll live with it .

I use the bedside mode with the clock at night. Works great for me since I have the Transform case and set it up tilted in Landscape. I highly doubt there is any impact on screen burn-in.

The Z10's Bedside Mode screen keeps you up? The black screen with faded red clock?

I switched mine to digital so there's less on the screen, plus faster to read while half asleep.

When I first got my Z10, in bedside mode the clock displayed all night which is what I want, and the display is much less intrusive than it used to be on my Torch. In the last few days, however, it's stayed on for a while but then gone off sometime during the night, so if I wake up I can't see the time. Hope they fix this soon, may be sad but this is quite a big thing for me!

I use bedside mode. I like the fact it goes to red. Just wish it was more configurable. Also looking forward to getting a cradle when it becomes available.

Yup, red light is known to interfere less with your natural night vision.

Have you thought of snagging a Transform or Flip Case? Both OEM BB Z10 cases have a stand built in.

I put my phone in bedside mide and then switch the display off. Doesn't bother me much personally. Live the Red clock though.

Ah I see. Never understood why BBRY doesn't produce slightly larger holsters and/or pocket pouches as an option for devices with a case on. I know you can only make so many accessories, but for major device releases like 99xx previously and now Z10 and Q10 you'd think they would be able to sell a fair share.

Cradle does look nice though! I can't justify the expense right now considering I own a micro HDMI cable plus my Samsung TV has DLNA.

I like my z10 naked... i use the microfiber pouch

Guess I'll try to get used to the orange glow at night. Can't wait for the cradle as well! Had one for her 9780, absolutely loved it! Too bad there's no cradle connections, I can see how the usb is going to be a little annoying to connect and disconnect. Oh well, as long as there's a cradle I'm happy

I don't currently use it because it turns off ALL notifications unlike my bold where I could keep the phone call feature on. I got rid of my home phone years ago so not having this option is not practical for me in case of a late night emergency call. I wish I could use it because I love the look of it. Don't tell Kevin about this...he'll go on a rant. lol

I love the bedside mode on the Z10 it kills the annoying red light while I sleep

It's much dimmer than my 9800 that I used every night on Bedside with no problems

The last two mornings I've had problems with the clock in bedside mode after pressing the screen to snooze. The screen locked and wouldn't exit from the clock. The first time I could do a reset by pressing the lock key to restart the phone. The second time it happened (this morning) I had to do a battery pull to restart the phone after the freeze up 'cos even the lock key didn't work to give me access to restart. Before these two times I had no problem closing the alarm and using the phone straight off bat. Hope it doesn't glitch any more.
