First things first, turn the phone off
Do you know if that is the stl100-(2,3 or 4) or the stll100-1?

connect phone to computer > open BlackBerry Link link > reboot/power on phone = BlackBerry Link should give an error saying it could not connect to device + ask you to update the device software > click update

If you can't get link to work, download an autoloader (Brb I'll grab you a link)

here is the autoloader for stl100-1 latest 10.2.1
    http://l.bitcasa.com/SL8N3GSv

It is compressed in 7z format, extract it first using the tool from http://7-zip.org/

Open the autoloader > Plug phone in and reboot phone

Let me know if you have any problems

Power off your phone, connect it to the PC. Then you should be able to restore from link. Try plugging it in in a different USB port if it doesn't detect it directly.

If your phone is under warranty, visit BB Expert service center. You may get the device replaced.
One of my fried had similar issue, he got his device replaced.

Open autoloader (command prompt will open and say "connecting to bootrom")

    Turn device off

    Plug device into computer

When red led shows on phone the autoloader will either ask you device password (or if there isn't a password) it will begin loading the os.

Also, you can try the various suggestions above but first REMOVE the battery. Yes, the phone can sometimes connect and the OS be reloaded without the battery during the initial steps.

    Good luck
